COOPERATION BETWEEN THE CHRC AND OMCT Prof James Mouangue Kobila grants an audience to Mr Isidore Ngueuleu On 30 August 2024, Prof James Mouangue Kobila, Chairperson of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission (CHRC), granted an audience to Mr Isidore Ngueuleu, Head of the Africa Regional Desk of the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT), and his entourage, made up of: Mrs Charlotte Mancini, Human Rights Advisor for the Africa Regional Desk of the OMCT, Mr Joseph Zebaze, Coordinator of the Cameroon Network of Human Rights Organisations (CNHRO), Mr Bertrand Tientcheu, Permanent Secretary of the CNHRO, and Mr Emmanuel Gotbi of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa (CHRDA). During this working session, the Chairperson of the CHRC was accompanied by: Commissioner Seiny Lamine Boukar, member of the Sub-Commission on the Prevention of Torture, Mr Gabriel Nonetchoupo, Head of the CHRC Division for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights, Mrs Mabelle Nkwenti, Assistant Research Officer at the Chairperson’s Office, and Ms Shu Nyamboli Mabel, Acting Head of the Cooperation, Documentation and Research Service. This one-hour audience enabled Mr Isidore Ngueuleu, to get acquainted with the CHRC and to discuss the topics that will feature in the Alternative Reports from Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) submitted to the Committee Against Torture for the review of Cameroon’s Report, scheduled for November 2024, and to identify avenues for cooperation between the CHRC and OMCT/Africa Region. #CHRC #CDHC #1523 #Accredited with A Status #Accréditée au Statut A
